Nigerian Celebs Who Need to Have a Reality Show

Celebs like Toni Payne, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Jim Iyke have kick started the reality show trend in Nigerian and it seems that it will be here for a while. Here’s a list of the others I would love to see join the rest:

1)    Genevieve Nnaji- For a long time Genevieve Nnaji was the unrivalled queen of Nollywood and even though she has been slightly overshadowed by Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde her star power is still as strong as ever. Genevieve is undoubtedly household famous but there is a sense of mystery around her. A reality show of Genevieve’s will surely have an audience of keen fans who really want to know who the real Genevieve is. The reality show should be focused on her she handles her daily affairs, hobnobbing with Nolly and Hollywood bigwigs, what she gets up to in her private world, and how she raises up her daughter. ‘The Life of Genevieve’ will be a resounding hit just like most of her movies.

2)    D’Banj- A D’Banj reality show is a no brainer. The entertainer has been talking about having one for years but no specific date has been announced. The charming and humorous celebrity will be fun and interesting to watch as he juggles his music career with his business endeavours. Clips of him with his new international friends such as Big Sean and 2 Chainz would certainly attract people to watch D’banj’s reality show. There has always been a lot of interest in the entertainer’s love life. A D’Banj reality show won’t be complete if we don’t get to see the lucky woman in his life.

3)    Tonto Dikeh- Nollywood’s current bad girl Tonto Dikeh is a darling of the tabloids and blogs. Transferring her notoriety to television seems to be the next logical step for her. We would love to see Tonto Dikeh shuffling from tattoo parlours to movie sets and recording studios while sending out her (in)famous tweets. Her reality show should be gritty and hardcore that should match her status as Nollywood’s most notorious actress. We expect full drama in this reality show but it should also reveal another side of Tonto Dikeh we are not aware of – that is if she has another side.

4)    Banky W- The head honcho of Empire Mates Entertainment has been one of the poster boys of new Nigerian pop music for some time now and within that period he has moved from an anonymous R&B singer to a popular artist and executive. There should be genuine interest for a Banky W reality show. The baddest boss as he tags himself seems to be living an exciting life as a famous singer, EME boss and brand ambassador for Coca-Cola and Samsung. How he handles all his different portfolios should be exciting to watch on the TV screen. If spliced with him going on dates with his new girlfriend, Banky W’s reality should be a must watch.

5)    Cossy Orjiakor- The first law of entertainment and advertising is that sex sells and there is no Nigerian celeb who is selling this more than Cossy Orjiakor. The heavily endowed actress has graced the headlines for years. Her R18 pictures which she posts online helps generate traffic for numerous sites. If a Cossy reality show ever gets the green light it should be built around her sleazy character and daily activities. We would like to know what goes on in that Playgirl Mansion of hers. Because of the adult content the show should be aired late in the night or very early in the morning. To diversify the programme from the sex theme, Cossy should be allowed to comment on the latest happenings in the society and in the world.
Any thoughts on celebs who should get their own reality show and let us into their private part?
