First, I love this woman. Not for anything spectacular but for the one thing most if given her opportunity would have lacked, courage. She knew what was obtainable when she made history and became the first black woman to be made a Minister in Italy. Naturally, it wouldn't have gone down well with some people that was why one person went too far but of course, she has already taken several seats after her pathetic 5 minutes of fame
Welcome to
the Internet— the one place where people apparently love to put their feet in
their mouths. The latest outlandish statement was made by Dolores Valandro, a
conservative and member of the anti-immigration Northern League party. Her
target was Italy ’s
Minister of Immigration, Cecile Kyenge.
BET reports. “Won’t anybody rape her,
so she understands what it means to be a victim of this appalling crime,”
Valandro posted to her Facebook page, referencing an alleged rape attempt
involving Kyenge that took place in Genoa .
Her distasteful statement wouldn’t be the first offensive remark made about Italy ’s first
Black minister, as she’s been forced to bare the brunt of many racist
statements, including one where she was referred to as a “Congolese monkey.” Valandro
has been expelled since making the rape comment and removed the post from her
page.
“Each of us should feel offended,” 48-year-old Kyenge said of the comment
during a recent meeting in Rome .
“The words do not deserve any comment, just disdain. Cecile deserves solidarity
from me, the government and the country,” Italy ’s Prime Minister, Enrico
Letta added. Valandro has since apologized for the disparaging comments, but
clearly the damage is already done. “It was a joke in a moment of anger, I
apologize. I don’t think when I’m angry. It’s my way to vent. In reality, I am
sweeter than candy,” she said during an interview with Repubblica TV.
Sweeter
than candy? Girl, bye!
Sweeter than candy indeed or she means a candy with a very dirty razor in-between. Fredalicious, I'm beginning to love ur blog.

What does not kill you only make you stronger. All these racist and vile comments towards this woman is only showing how stupid some people can be.
ReplyDeleteJust to point out she is the Minister for Integration not immigration.
